'US corporations are under fire for aiding the creation of world's second largest displaced population. Activists claim millions of Colombians have been driven from their homes.

In light of the issue, hundreds of protestors have gathered at Washington DC’s Capitol Hill.

People brought pictures of those who have suffered as a result of the activities of major US companies in Colombia's indigenous territories, which are rich in natural resources. Millions have not only been displaced, but also are either missing, tortured or have been killed.'

Thanks to the decades long conflict in Colombia, it's estimated that 4 million people have been displaced. Making it the second largest displaced population in the world. Many of them are union leaders and others activists from the left.

Yesterday, some of these refugees came to the White House to remind the US that their policies and practices in Colombia have not gone unnoticed. Policies that ignore the atrocities of corporations in search of minerals and resources.
